As though the alluring beaches and striking sunsets along the shores of Lake Huron were not enough to draw visitors to the community, Kincardine offers visitors and residents alike a wide selection of events and attractions to take in.
A full service Harbour and Marina has ample space for seasonal and visiting boaters to launch, dock, and fuel. While down at the harbour, stop by the lighthouse and museum to take a tour and learn about its history. You may even hear the Phantom Piper! Learn about local history as you tour through Kincardine’s oldest building, circa 1850 - the Paddy Walker House. The Kincardine Municipal Airport offers professional flight training as well as breathtaking aerial tours of our area.
Once the warmer weather returns, you can participate with many weekly events located throughout the town. A weekly Farmers Market is held Saturday mornings starting the long weekend in May and continuing until Thanksgiving. Market in the Park is held on Monday’s from Victoria Day to Labour Day at Victoria Park. Cruise Night Classic Car Shows are held downtown on Queen Street on the Friday evening of each long weekend throughout the summer.
The Kincardine Scottish Festival & Highland Games is an award winning festival attended by people from across the country and other parts of the world. Held at the beginning of July, the festival is full of events, competitions, and concerts for all ages to enjoy. Fishing Derby’s are a hit with families and competitors… not to mention the general public who get to enjoy the many fish fry’s during the events. During the winter, Grand Prix de Kincardine Snowmobile Racing draws in crowds and competing participants. Award winning comic Rick Mercer even attended the event in 2011 bringing forward his colourful splash of comic relief and entertainment.
