Major industries within the Municipality of Kincardine include tourism, agriculture and energy.

With its pristine beaches, vibrant sunsets, and assortment of weekly and annual events happening throughout the year, the Municipality of Kincardine welcomes tourists year-round.

Agriculture remains an important part of the area's economy. Productive crop lands and cattle industry make the area an ideal location for those interested in farming. Each year, Kincardine and Tiverton host fall fairs within their respective communities. Throughout the summer months (and early fall), weekly farmers markets provide residents and tourists with an abundance of fresh produce.

The energy sector continues to grow with the development of new projects and facilities. Of note is the work being done at Ontario Power Generation (OPG), Bruce Power, the wind farm development projects, and the growth of the Bruce ECO-Industrial Park.

Bruce Power, located near Tiverton, is the largest independent generator of electricity in Ontario and supplies more than 25% of the total demand for power in the province. With almost 4,000 employees and another 3,000 contractors, Bruce Power is the main employer in the area.

OPG has a Western Waste Management Facility located at the Bruce nuclear site and is currently working through the process of obtaining approval for site preparation and construction of a Deep Geologic Repository (which will manage low and intermediate waste long-term).

The Bruce-ECO Industrial Park is located adjacent to Bruce Power and home to greenhouse facilities, BI-AX, Bruce Agra Dehydration Plant and GreenField Ethanol Inc.

In addition to Bruce Power, other major employers within the municipality include: Ontario Power Generation (OPG), Sobeys, Municipality of Kincardine, Trillium Court, Zehrs, Bruce Telecom, Canadian Tire, and Superheat FGH.
